Offensive Moves Explanation
-
None of Clefable’s fast moves have STAB, so Pound is the best of the lot.
-
Zen Headbutt and Charge Beam can do better with type effectiveness.
-
Dazzling Gleam has high power for a 2-bar move, putting it significantly ahead of Moonblast.
- Psychic is simply awful.
Defensive Moves Explanation
-
Zen Headbutt has the highest damage and good coverage on Poison attackers.
-
Pound performs terribly on defense. Charge Beam lies in the middle.
- Because of its 2 bars and high power, Dazzling Gleam is much better than both Moonblast and Psychic.
Rating Explanation
Clefable is one of the most underrated defenders. Its Fairy typing offers a favorable matchup vs. Dragon, Fighting, and Dark types. Its role is to force switches when placed between defensive staples such as Blissey, Chansey, and Snorlax. More casual players may not know how to best counter Clefable, which functionally makes it better.
Clefable really shouldn’t be used on offense, where other Pokemon do everything that it can do better.
